Pertussis: This past year over 4,700 cases were reported, compared to 781 in the same time frame as the prior year. This is the most reported number of cases in our state in 70 years. Pertussis is particularly dangerous for infants and toddlers, so the importance of immunization cannot be stressed enough for those having contact with this age group. Current Pertussis Status
