Board of Health

The Board of Health meets monthly to consider policies to improve the health and safety of Island County residents and visitors, and to address issues presented by Island County Public Health staff and point presentations.
 
Meetings
Island County Board of Health meetings are usually held at 1:15 pm the 3rd Monday of every month at the Commissioner's Hearing Room B-102 (lower level) in the Island County Court House Annex, corner of 6th & Main St. Campus Site Map   All Board of Health meetings are open to the public, and the public's attendance and participation are welcome. To testify before the Board on agenda items, you are invited to step forward when the Chair asks for comments on that item and announce yourself. On non-agenda items, A "public comment" time is set aside for non-agenda items at which time you may introduce yourself with your name and address, and if possible, limiting your comments to three minutes.

Mayor Scott Dudley grew up in Olympia and after graduating from Olympia High School joined the United States Marine Corps Reserves. He then transferred over to the United States Navy. After his military service, he went into the financial field and has been a Financial Advisor since 1991. He moved to Oak Harbor in January of 2000 and manages an investment office in OakHarbor. Mayor Dudley is married to the former Christine Habina, who grew up in Oak Harbor and together they have five children. Mayor Dudley has been actively involved in the OakHarbor community by volunteering for or being an active member of the following:  Rotary Club of North Whidbey Island Sunrise - Past President  Greater Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce  Junior Achievement  Oak Harbor High School’s Business Advisory Committee  Navy League  Fleet Reserve Association  Interfaith Coalition of Whidbey Island  Civil Service Commission  Whidbey Island Marathon Committee Mayor Dudley was elected to Oak Harbor’s City Council in 2009 and was sworn into office as Mayor on December 28, 2011. He will serve a four year term, beginning January 1, 2012. Mayor Dudley believes in a safe, secure city that is governed by an open, fiscally responsible government, making Oak Harbor a city we are proud to call “Home.” If you have any suggestions on how he can do that better, don’t hesitate to contact him.
